Dear Parishoners,

The Appeal is how we as a parish have an opportunity to bring about a positive change in the lives of many of God’s people in our Diocese.  The theme for this year’s Appeal is “Together in Mission.”  Inspired by the Gospel of Mark (16:15), which compels us to “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature,” we are called as one community of faith to evangelize those around us.  This mission has become even more urgent as Columbus and the surrounding communities grow rapidly in both size and diversity. 

The Appeal has four specific ministries that it funds with your generosity: 

• Social Needs – Dollars raised with support concrete outreach to the poor and the most vulnerable in our Diocese. 
• Education & Faith Formation – The Appeal supports Catholic education and faith-formation initiatives for young people, including those on college campuses. 
• Evangelization – Dollars raised are used to share the good news of salvation with everyone, through our parishes and outreach ministries. 
• Vocations – The Appeal funds programs to form missionary disciples, religious, and priests who are heralds of the Gospel. 

Our parish has been given a goal of $286,000. This is much more than last year's goal. I do believe we can accomplish this if, after prayerful consideration, everyone gives what they can.  Consider joining the Miter Society with a gift of $1,000 or more.  A monthly pledge of $20, $30, $40, $50 or any amount for ten months helps us reach or goal.  Our response to The Appeal is one way to share our blessings with our neighbors and to express our gratitude for all the blessings that our most loving God has bestowed on us. 

The Appeal begins the weekend of April 26 and 27th, 2025.  Please consider supporting the ministries and programs made possible through the generosity of those that have supported The Appeal.

As Bishop Fernandes continues the good work he has done in our Diocese, I am filled with excitement and hope for the future.  I know that you all will sacrifice to make this goal.  We have been given so much at St. John Neumann, please join me in donating to The Appeal to help make an impact throughout our Diocese.
