Title: Social Media Coordinator
Description: The Social Media Coordinator is responsible for attracting and engaging audiences by creating and curating content that lifts the mind and soul to God. The Coordinator will support marketing efforts to promote the St. John Neumann (SJN) community to the greater Sunbury area, the Diocese of Columbus and anyone looking for spiritual refreshment.
Responsibilities and Duties:
• Visually document events and activities at SJN
• Create content that is visually appealing and thought-provoking to engage the viewer
• Develop and maintain a social media campaign schedule
• Inform, advertise, and attract public interest regarding events and activities
• Produce, review and publish content for Meta products (Facebook, Instagram and Threads) and those apps employed by SJN for engagement purposes. Monitor, moderate and respond to social media comments as appropriate.
• Maintain SJN branding.
• Create infographics and other engaging visual media for use across SJN’s communication venues, including outdoor signs.
• Track metrics for engagement.
• Execute plan for production of ministry-specific videos.
Qualifications and Skills:
• At least one year of demonstrated experience working within a corporate communications or social media setting, with proficient use in social media platforms.
• Knowledge of Adobe Preview, Microsoft, Canva or similar graphic design programs; and all current, major social media platforms in use by the parish.
• Ability to communicate effectively and understand a Catholic perspective.
• Ability to multi-task and establish priorities; maintain a high level of integrity and professionalism; ability to maintain flexible attitude and approach towards assignments and successfully operate under appropriate guidelines.
• Light typing and proofreading skills; working knowledge of Style Manual usage (AP, MLA, etc.); excellent communication skills and knowledge of office equipment.
• Ability to undergo an appropriate OSBI Background Check and successfully complete basic Protecting God’s Children certification.
Reporting Relationship: Reports to Communication Manager
Hours and Compensation: Part time, year-round, 20 hours per week – ability to work nights and weekends as required. Compensation to be commensurate with experience.
