Title: Digital Media Coordinator - Part-Time


Description: The Digital Media Coordinator is responsible for attracting and engaging audiences by creating and curating content that lifts the mind and soul to God. The Coordinator will support marketing efforts to promote the St. John Neumann (SJN) community to the greater Sunbury area, the Diocese of Columbus and anyone looking for spiritual refreshment.


Responsibilities and Duties: 

  • Capture and document digital content: Strategically capture events, activities, and other key moments for use across digital platforms at SJN.
  • Create engaging digital media: Design visually compelling content that resonates with the target audience, enhancing viewer engagement and conveying key messages effectively
  • Execute the social media content strategy: Work with the communication manager to execute and maintain a content calendar for social media, ensuring consistent, relevant, and timely posts across platforms
  • Promote SJN events and initiatives: Utilize digital media to advertise and generate interest around events and activities, driving engagement and participation.
  • Manage social media presence: Execute content creation, publication, and engagement across Meta platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Hallow), while monitoring and responding to audience comments and interactions as needed.
  • Uphold SJN’s brand identity: Ensure all digital content aligns with the established SJN brand guidelines, maintaining a consistent visual identity across all platforms.
  • Design infographics and visual assets: Create and distribute visually appealing infographics, promotional materials, and other assets for both digital and physical communication channels, including outdoor signage.
  • Analyze and report on digital performance: Track, assess, and report on engagement metrics across all social media and digital platforms, adjusting strategies as needed to maximize impact.
  • Execute video content production: Work with the communications manager to produce, and manage the creation of ministry-specific videos to enhance SJN’s digital presence and engagement 



Qualifications and Skills: 

• At least one year of demonstrated experience working within a corporate communications or social media setting, with proficient use in social media platforms.

• Knowledge of Adobe Preview, Microsoft, Canva or similar graphic design programs; and all current, major social media platforms in use by the parish.

• Ability to communicate effectively and understand a Catholic perspective.

• Ability to multi-task and establish priorities; maintain a high level of integrity and professionalism; ability to maintain flexible attitude and approach towards assignments and successfully operate under appropriate guidelines.

• Light typing and proofreading skills; working knowledge of Style Manual usage (AP, MLA, etc.); excellent communication skills and knowledge of office equipment.

• Ability to undergo an appropriate OSBI Background Check and successfully complete basic Protecting God’s Children certification.


Reporting Relationship: Reports to Communication Manager

Hours and Compensation: Part time, year-round, 20 hours per week – ability to work nights and weekends as required. Compensation to be commensurate with experience.
