Examples include:
• Community Support
• Conferences, Marches and Missions
• Personal/Family Assistance
Our Mission
To engage the parishioners of St. John Neuman to share the blessings of their faith by providing funds for outreach and discipleship programs and to serve the greatest number of individuals in the most effective way on a local, national, and international basis.
Our Focus
Through our “Request for Funds” form at SaintJohnSunbury.org/good-samaritan-ministry-1, the Good Samaritan Ministry (GSM) supports community members with financial or material needs. Requests are reviewed monthly, verified, voted on, and funds are disbursed as approved.
GSM also:
- Oversees outreach funding for the poor and supports evangelization and spiritual growth.
- Coordinates with the St. Vincent de Paul Society to maximize impact and avoid duplicating services.
- Provides direct financial assistance for outreach and discipleship efforts.
- Shares information on available resources and connects volunteers and donors.
- Organizes fundraisers and material drives, listed in our weekly bulletin here.
